Customer requirement
Every week, cleaning the production facilities generates almost 15 m³ of acidic and alkaline wastewater (pH 3 and pH 13, respectively). Until now, this has been collected in a stack tank and mixed using a circulation pump. To improve occupational safety and save on operating resources, the manual neutralization of wastewater is to be automated in the future. In addition, the quantity and pH value of the wastewater discharged must be recorded and made available to the authorities in a report.
The solution
The concept was developed on the basis of a preliminary project in which the wastewater quantity and quality were recorded. An agitator in the collection tank ensures good mixing and promotes self-neutralization of the collected wastewater. Automatic neutralization takes place in a weatherproof container. The system runs in batch mode and is started by a timer or the level in the tank. The pH value, wastewater volume, and temperature can be exported as a report via USB memory drive.
