Electronics Engineer with a Swiss Federal Certificate

Information about the job profile


Electronics engineers develop and implement electronic circuits or computer programs in conjunction with other specialists. They plan and monitor manufacturing processes for electronic products and create technical documents such as fabrication documents for printed circuit boards. They build electronic devices or systems, carry out measurement, testing and inspection work, commissioning and repair work and they draft inspection and testing procedures.


The apprenticeship lasts 4 years. It is divided into a wide-ranging 2-year basic training program which will be competed by an intermediate test and a 2-year in-depth training including assignments in various departments. The apprentices attend the Allgemeine Gewerbeschule Basel (trade school Basel) in Switzerland.

We encourage obtaining in parallel a professional maturity.

Our apprentices are also offered the possibility of an international training (EUREGIO).


We are looking for young people with very good abstract and analytical thinking skills and an aptitude for technical relationships. Good grades in mathematics and physics are required. You also enjoy experimenting and tinkering, have excellent fine motor skills and work in a thorough, precise and exact manner.

Suitable students: secondary school students, level E or P or the equivalent.

A suitability test (Multicheck technical for Electronics Engineers) is required.

Opportunities for professional development

  • There are many professional opportunities for Electronics Engineers. There are numerous possibilities for higher vocational examinations in the technical field, e.g.:

  • certification as a Plant Operating Expert

  • Technician (higher vocational examination)

  • Engineer (University of Applied Sciences)
