Computer Scientist for System Technology
Information about the job profile
In the System Technology concentration, Computer Scientists set up and maintain information technology systems. They are responsible for the systems as such, for the networks and for the operating systems. They are working in the areas of planning, installation, operation and maintenance. They set up the systems, operate and administer them. This also includes creating and realizing concepts and testing the systems as well as supporting users.
The apprenticeship lasts 4 years. It is divided into a wide-ranging 2-year basic training program and a 2-year in-depth training in a certain concentration (support, systems engineering). During the entire course of training, the apprentices attend the vocational school at the Gewerbeschule Muttenz (trade school Muttenz) for 1–2 days per week. For the other time, they are mostly assigned to the Information Technology Department.
We are looking for young people with good grades in mathematics and English, as well as with good abstract and analytic thinking skills. Important qualifications include being a team player, enjoying dealing with computers and technical issues, having a confident manner and being able to express yourself well.
Suitable students: secondary school students, level E or P or the equivalent.
A suitability test (Multicheck technical for Computer Scientists) is required.
